A few months ago I received some exciting news! My sister in law is having a baby! Another little boy in fact. We’re all very excited about this new little addition to the family … especially his big brother. So, you can imagine how flattered I was when I was asked to do a personalized baby plate for her baby shower. My sister in law (Meg) knew exactly what she wanted and the baby shower was a great time. I’m so happy that I could offer her an heirloom, keepsake memento of this special time with a custom handpainted baby shower plate. The holidays truly are a time to reflect on the precious gift of family and friends. Christmas is my favorite holiday not only because I get to watch the wonder of discovery, excitement and life anew through my young son’s eyes but because it always makes me feel especially grateful for having my family. It is the best time to take pleasure in the gift of family. The analogy probably sounds silly but, every time I am asked to do a custom guest book platter, I get a similar feeling. It’s such a honor to make these heirlooms for people. To be invited to hand paint a custom design that is obviously a huge part the person or people receiving these signature platters is so much fun for me. I was recently asked to create a scottish wedding themed bride and groom where the groom would be wearing a kilt in his traditional family colors. How cool is this!?! What a wonderful way for this couple to cherish their families! AND, what a wonderful way to create new memories and to celebrate the new family they are beginning just between the two of them.
